The MPA is an association of individuals and organisations that ally themselves with the need to conserve the Magliesberg mountains.  They do this in the following ways:- 

• Contributing to the development or amendment of protective legislation

• Monitoring the implementation of protective legislation and acting as the watchdog over abuse and malpractice

• Assisting and co-operating with provincial and state officials in their conservation responsibilities

• Informing and educating the public about the rights and obligations of people who use the area

• Providing a forum where concerned organisations and individuals can be represented and their voices heard
